In the wake of the Highland Park parade mass shooting on July 4th, gun advocates blame the violence on the suspect’s state of mind rather than his weapon. Jeffrey Swanson, a professor in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University, spoke with CNN’s Jim Sciutto about what the research shows and the fundamental question he says we should be asking.
